our children

Recruit outstanding teachers by
partnering with local businesses and community
agencies and retain outstanding teachers with
competitive salaries
Restore integrity, character and pride to our
school district

Ensure positive role models are in
leadership positions

Restore confidence in our school
system by reviewing and approving policies,
especially those relating to awarding high school
diplomas, adult
education and GED testing procedures

Establish a Superintendent’s
Council of community leaders, parents and teachers
to listen to community concerns
Demand a “no excuses” attitude toward
academic excellence

Improve the high school graduation
rate and decrease the dropout rate by focusing on
the needs of struggling students
·
Recognize the connection between
class size, student achievement and increasing FCAT
scores
·
Strengthen our career and technical
programs for those students entering directly into
the job market
Direct as much of our tax dollars as possible
back to the classroom

Analyze district-level positions
and redirect to schools where possible
·
Reduce travel and conference expenses
·
Protect classroom teachers from
budget cuts
Provide safe and disciplined schools

Hold parents and students
responsible for truancy and disruptive behavior at school

Place continually disruptive
students in alternative programs

Promote counseling, healthy choice
